4th Of July Activities

Here are the Fourth of July activities we’ve been up to:

Connor made a flag.IMG_2061 IMG_2064 IMG_2067

The kids tweezered puffs into a star ice cube tray. (Brianna loved this)IMG_2127 IMG_2131 IMG_2134

Brianna sorted red, white and blue foam stickers.IMG_2182 IMG_2184

Using those same stickers, along with some ribbon and star sequins, they made red, white and blue collages.IMG_2209 IMG_2212 IMG_2216

I watered down paint and we spooned it onto black paper and the kids blew onto the paint with a straw to make fireworks.IMG_2207 IMG_2208

Brianna’s Tot School: Bubbles!

Tot School

Brianna is 27 months old

We worked on a bubbles/water theme this week and had so much fun!!

We did lots of fun activities outside!

I filled a bucket with soapy water and a sponge and washcloth and Brianna and her brother washed their little tikes car.IMG_2079 IMG_2080 IMG_2085 IMG_2089

We then took the bucket, along with some paintbrushes and ‘painted’ the driveway with water.IMG_2093

I let her pour the bucket of water onto the driveway and she proceeded to jump in it.IMG_2099

After the driveway fun i squirted some dish soap into their kiddie pools and filled with water. The result? Bubble filled pools an lots of fun!IMG_2100 IMG_2103 IMG_2107

We did a bubble blowing activity outside too. We taped paper to the fence, put some food coloring into our bubbles and blew them onto paper where they popped.IMG_2069

Go here to see 2 bubble crafts she made:IMG_1992 IMG_2017

I put out some items, including a damp washcloth, for to bathe her baby doll. She loved this!IMG_1997 IMG_2001 IMG_2000

She attempted to fold washcloths. She was so cute with this, even though it wasn’t the easiest thing for her. She still enjoyed it.IMG_2119 IMG_2122

Non Bubble related:

She played with the birdseed sensory bin,IMG_1836

colored a heart red,IMG_1790

and made a handprint sun.IMG_1805

She painted with Crayola Beginners paints on fun paint papers.IMG_1973

Lately she has been really into peeling the paper off of crayons. She concentrates so hard!IMG_1948

Using this coloring page, she colored and glued sand onto it to make a sand picture.IMG_1864 IMG_1867

She helped me pull weeds. (or should i say vines)IMG_1869

and found Curious Georges matching shadows. (from our Friends magazine)

Using the idea i saw here, the kids played in a cornstarch and water mixture. However i added too much water. So we will try this again sometime. The kids still loved playing in it though!IMG_1983

She enjoyed some of our instruments:IMG_2116 IMG_2111

And made an ice cream cone.IMG_2117

That was our past couple of weeks! Go here for more Tot School posts. And check back later this week for a post of all the Fourth of July activities we’ve been up to.

stART~ Bubbles!

We read two cute books about bubbles this week, both of which were perfect for Brianna’s age:

Bubbles, Bubbles by Kathi Appeltimage

and Scrubba-Dub by Nancy Van Laanimage

And Brianna made a couple of little bubble crafts too. She made bubble prints by pressing a piece of paper over bubble wrap she had painted on:IMG_1992

and she made glitter bubbles. She put some circle label stickers onto a piece of paper,IMG_2012

i helped her add drops of glue and then she sprinkled on some glitter.IMG_2017

We shook off the excess glitter and let it dry!IMG_2033

We are having alot of fun with our bubble theme, so come back later to see some more fun ideas!
