What I’m Using for the 2010-2011 school Year!

Can i just say i am sooo excited about some great finds for this upcoming school year? And I'm just as excited to share them with you :o)

Ok, lets start with Brianna…

Brianna’s 2 year Curriculum:

The main curriculum I'm going to be using is biblical, FREE and just awesome! Its Joyful Learning from Hubbard’s Cupboard. I love this! She has cute themes for every month of the year! And great activities and crafts (and pictures) to go with every theme! AND sensory bins and playdough ideas for every month! And I'm a sucker for those!! I highly recommend you check it out! There is also a 3 and 4 year old curriculum!

Here are some supplements i will be using with Brianna:

Kumon: Let’s Sticker and Paste! image

And this set of Animal Baby books i found at a used curriculum sale for $1 total!!!IMG_0001

Connor’s 4 year Pre-K Curriculum:

Reading/Handwriting:

Connor is just started out reading and writing and all that, so he will mostly be working on

  • memorizing sight words
  • sounding words out/beginning reading
  • practicing writing his letters better.

Here is what we will be using:

Christian Liberty Preschool Activity Book(covers letters and numbers and lots lots more!)image

Write and Reuse Alphabet Fun bookimage

Math:

He’s mastered counting up to 10 and he recognizes his numbers up to 10. So we are going to mainly focus on

  • mastering writing his numbers 1-10
  • learning to recognize and write numbers past 10.
  • Plus all the other little things that go along with math :) Like working on patterns, grouping etc.

We are using:

Liberty Preschool Workbook (see above)

Sesame Street Counting with the Count.

This book will have him working on counting and writing numbers 1-20. (i found mine at the dollar store!)

Science:

Science is what i am most excited about because i found some great books, perfect for this year!!

I found this book at a curriculum sale and its perfect for this age!

Child’s Play Scienceimage

It covers six great topics:

  • The Earth
  • Plants
  • Animals
  • My Body
  • Air
  • Water

There are awesome worksheets to go with each topic.

And to go along with this book, is this!

Science Tub Topicsimage

I was so excited about this find! I didn't know it until i got home, but it has experiments that go almost hand in hand with the topics in the above book! The experiments in this book are great! They are easy to do and great for all different ages.

Also to go along with these 2 books is this Playhouse Disney Encyclopedia that Connor got for his birthday!  It covers so many great science topics, including many that we are going to be doing this year! Its very colorful and fun, which is a huge plus for me.

Along with everything else, i always check out these great sites for supplements, worksheets, activities and inspiration. Please check them out, you will find great things on there!

Free Adorable Meal Planner

I saw this adorable and free download-able meal planner and i had to share! Go here to check it out! She has a cover page, meal planner pages (with a side grocery list) and a back cover, all of which are super cute! I put mine together in a 3 ring binder for myself and one for a friend for her birthday (i used binders that have the opening in the top of the front and back plastic covers so i can stick the papers inside. I also love the pockets on the inside so i can keep recipes and other things in it):

Brianna’s Tot School: Picnics And Baskets

Tot School

*Just a heads up, we will be on vacation this week visiting family. So this will be the last post until i get back.

Picnics and Baskets:

Brianna rolled a die and put that amount of paper ants into a basket. She still needs my help counting. (i used this link for the ants. And the giant die is from the Dollar Store)IMG_0010 IMG_0014

We ate ants on a log.IMG_0098

She sorted silverware into piles of forks and spoons,IMG_0049

and by color.IMG_0057

Using a square stamp she made a red and white checkered tablecloth picture. And she added ants with an ant stamp i had.IMG_0042 IMG_0068

Using our real picnic basket, i placed items inside (her favorite toys) and had her guess what it was just by feeling it. I had to keep reminding her not to look ;) She LOVED this activity and wanted to do it again and again.IMG_0064

She glued food items onto a picnic basket. (all are images i found online and copied and pasted into Microsoft Word.)IMG_0066

And we of course had to have a real picnic! We had a simple one, in our backyard :)IMG_0061

Not Picnic Related:

She played alot with her Fisher Price piggy bank.IMG_0018

She looked soo stinking cute on the 4th of July!IMG_0082

She played in our ice cream shop sensory bin.IMG_2155

And put flowers into a parmesan cheese container.IMG_2188

We went berry picking! Can you tell she enjoyed it??IMG_0039

She enjoyed some other fun in the sun too:  IMG_0076 IMG_0075

Oh, and i cant forget to tell you that Brianna now sleeps in a big girl bed! (Which yes, does have blankets!)IMG_2151

Our theme starting in August will be oceans and beaches! LOTS of fun things planned for it!

*I am using the Joyful Learning Curriculum.
