Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great January! And stayed warm! We are having an unseasonably warm winter, and i love it :)
Here is what Connor worked on last month.
Language Arts:
He has been reading from little books, and using a bookmark to help guide him. He’s also been reading pages from these books as homework twice a week-
He learned that a ‘smile’ above a vowel means it makes a short sound. And that usually when a word has one vowel, it makes the short sound.
He learned three new sight words: to, do and I -
He’s learning that apostrophe S’s mean the next word belongs to someone/thing-
He can read all of his one vowel word cards-
He can write simple sentences in cursive!
And he learned his first capital letter in cursive: A-
Math:
He knows all his addition facts for 1-5-
And he can write out the problems too-
He learned about dimes. What it looks like, has on it and that its worth 10 cents, or the same as 10 pennies-
He can easily count to 100, recognize every number from 0-100 and write them all-

And he can count by 10’s to 100 all on his own!
He reviewed time (he can only tell the time if its exactly on the hour)-
He’s been working alot on writing the number that comes after, simple addition, telling how many cents (with dimes)-
Science:
He finished studying Plants/Seeds:
He learned that some foods have seeds on the outside, like strawberries-
He learned that some of our foods come from plants. Like peanut butter comes from peanuts-
And orange juice comes from oranges. Here my hubbie is squeezing an orange for him to see the juice. Which Connor then drank.
Social Studies:
He learned about the Netherlands! Or has he likes to call it, Neverland ;)
That’s it folks! :)
LOL, being from the Netherlands I couldn't help myself and laughed at that last picture! So cute :)
