Pastel Cross Craft And Crown Of Thorn Cookies

Sorry I'm posting this so late, the day before Easter. But maybe someone out there is looking for a couple of easy last minute Easter ideas ;)

Pastel cross:

(I saw this idea here)

First draw and cut out a cross/hill outline on a piece of paper. Or just a cross if you don't want to do the hill. IMG_3853

Using oil pastels have the kids color all along the very edge of the outline, touching the edge.

Then tightly tape the outline to a piece of white paper so it wont move. And have the child press hard from where they colored the pastels, onto the white piece of paper underneath. The pastels will ‘leave’ the outline and go onto the white paper making a cool design. Do this all the way around.IMG_3854

Carefully take the outline and tape off and you have a cool design!IMG_3861

Crown of thorn cookies:

(Here is where i saw this idea)

This is an easy, yet meaningful snack idea.

Onto already made sugar cookies (i just bought the refrigerated ones but you can use whatever kind you'd like) have the kids spread peanut butter. All the way, making sure to get plenty on the edges.

Then using broken pieces of pretzels, have the kids put them all around the edge, for the thorns. It looks better if they are somewhat sticking up.IMG_3859

And that’s it! We talked alot about what Jesus did for us and how they mocked Him with the crown of thorns. Yet we know he truly was a King!

Have a *wonderful* Easter everyone!!
