Makenna turned one on May 13th! I still cant believe she's one. Why is it the more kids you have the faster the time goes? Ugh, i hate that. But to celebrate we threw her a 1 Upon A Time party! You get it right? ;)
Here are the details my party loving friends. The links in this post will take you to the blog where i found each idea.
Table Details!
The colors for the party, the dark pink, bright green and the purple, all came from some tiny scrolled picture frames i bought in the dollar section of Michael's craft stores months ago. And i went from there. I found balloons and tableware in the colors all at Party City.
Above the dinner table are some letters i printed out from the computer
right onto the colored scrapbook paper, which i bought at Joanns. I
googled something like alphabet templates and just copy and pasted each
'image' (the letter from the site) into Microsoft Word and printed one
letter per paper. Because i knew i would want to put them on the wall
where people could see it when they first walked in and they needed to
be big-
I made some simple storybook banners from some .25 cent books i bought
at a thrift store. I tried to find fairytale themed books and i got lucky
and found four different ones that were in a set. Rumpelstiltskin,
Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and Cinderella. I just cut them in triangles and taped them together at the tops. I put them above the dessert table and on the front of the tablecloths for the two food tables-
There were alot of little details to the dessert table.
Like a donut tower,
A wishing tree,
Cupcakes, (the blocks are just wooden blocks from Michael's that i put scrapbooking letters onto)
random picture frames etc,
and bookmark favors i made on the computer with scrapbooking paper and ribbon i had at home :)
On the actual tables i scattered homemade confetti from the leftover 1 Upon A time letters-
The Food:
Unfortunately when the party got under hand i totally forgot to take a picture of most of the food. But i have all the creative names and thats the important part ;)
Peter Rabbit's Veggies-
Snow White's Apple Juice (for the kiddos)-
Jack and Jill's Pail of Water-
The food not pictured: (there was a sign and book put out next to each fairy tale themed one)
Three Little Pigs Hots and Big Bad Wolf Burgers
Cinderella's Pumpkin Bread
Humpty Dumpty's Deviled eggs
Jello
Fruit Salad
Mac Salad
Beans
Chips and Dip
Popsicles
Fun:
We had a couple fun stations set up for the kids.
A 'Royal Ball'-
I had a craft station where the kids could make wands out of glow sticks and frog and butterfly cut outs. All from Joann's-
And my creative s-i-l came up with the idea to do a story time tent. She even brought costumes and such. And during the party she spent some time reading to some of the kids. She read Hansel and Gretel :)
And now just some cuteness :)
Here is my amazing S-I-L who helped me a ton with this party-
